When singing Joy to the World, don't only think about Christ's first coming at Christmas but also the joy believers will have at his 2nd coming at the end of time. On that Judgement day, we will truly have joy as we receive our 'King'.
The greatest message the world will ever hear is contained in one simple scale. When singing Joy to the World, don't only think about Christ's first coming at Christmas but also the joy believers will have at his 2nd coming at the end of time. On that Judgement day, we will truly have joy as we receive our 'King'. CLICK HERE to access the individual photos for download or printing. On Dec. 18, Grace K-8 students gathered to hear more information about our current chapel offering project - Love the Lou. Jake Barnett, who works with Love the Lou, talked to the students about his life, his basketball, his faith and his priorities. Ask your child if they remember Jake's message - when he realized that his faith and loving others was more important than his basketball. During his college basketball career at St. Louis University, Jake used the locker room as a place to witness his faith to teammates and now continues loving others through his work with Love the Lou. Please be generous with chapel offerings for this ministry during the months of January and February. His message was summed up by a 4K student "He loves basketball AND he loves Jesus." May something similar be said for each student at Grace - that our love for Jesus is evident in all we do and say. This Christmas I pray that you can focus on the baby in the simple manger and yet the immense change, peace, and hope that Jesus brought and still brings to lives today. The miracle of Christmas is because: Jesus had no servants...Yet they called Him Master. Had no degree...Yet they called Him Teacher . Had no medicines...yet they called Him Healer. Had no army...yet kings feared Him. He won no military battles...yet He conquered the world. He committed no crime...yet they crucified Him. He was buried in a tomb...yet He lives today. Merry Christmas! Jake Barnett, a graduate of Northwest Lutheran School and known by some Grace members, is involved in a project in St. Louis called "Love the Lou."
We will be supporting that project through our 2nd Trimester chapel offerings. We hope to have Jake with us in December to speak to our students. CLick this LINK to watch a video about Love the Lou... A humble stable. A rustic manger.
