Several changes have been made in Grace’s hot lunch and milk program. These changes should result in easier ordering and payment options while providing food that is nutritious and appealing.
Changes for 2015-16
How to Order All orders are made in Fast Direct.
Q: Where can I view lunch payments and transactions? A: On your Fast Direct Home screen, scroll to the bottom of the page to see a financial balance chart. Under the Lunch account column, click the blue number link. This will open up a transaction list that displays all charges and deposits made in that account.
Free and reduced lunch:Families may apply for free or reduced lunch through the federal lunch program by completing an application available in the school office. The FDA is an equal opportunity employer.
Changes for 2015-16
- Grace’s provider is Taher Foods. Food will be cooked in Taher’s central kitchen and then warmed and served daily from Grace’s kitchen. There will be a fruit and vegetable bar and a choice of 2 entrees each day.
- Ordering can be done in advance by a parent or the day of lunch in the student’s homeroom.
- Lunch cost is $3.00 including milk.
- Fast Direct: Menus, ordering and family accounts will be viewable in Fast Direct.
- Online payments (ACH) can be made through Vanco.
- Milk: Cold lunch students will need to order and pay for milk through Fast Direct.
- Free and Reduced:Families who qualify may apply for free and reduced lunch through the federal lunch program.
- Nutritious choices: Each lunch student must take at least 3 of the 5 items offered to give them the highest access to a well-balanced nutritional meal. Students will self-serve at the fruit/vegetable bar but their choices will be monitored.

- Order in advance: Grace will post and release menu choices each month. Available days will be listed on the parent home screen. Parents click the date and select the student entree choice.
- Same day ordering: Students may place an order lunch for that day in their homeroom.
- Families make deposits into a family cafeteria account. After lunch each day, the Fast Direct family account will be debited for students who ate lunch or took a milk. Absent students will not be charged for lunch.
- Parents will receive an email reminder to make a deposit when the balance falls below $10.
- Students will be given a note and parents will be called if the balance falls below $0. Students will be able to order lunch up to a maximum of -$10.
- Cash or check: Payments may be made in cash or check (payable to Grace) in the school office.
- Pay Online: Payments may be made online through a Vanco account. Vanco is also used to process Grace’s online church offerings. Please allow up to 48 hours for an online payment to be entered into Fast Direct.
