Grace Families...
What a great weekend! Thank you players, coaches, cheerleaders, fans, volunteers, and generous sponsors for a fantastic 2016 Grace Classic! Congratulations to both the Grace boys and the Grace Lady Raiders on a well played Classic tournament. Even though they both came up short in the third place game, both teams played with a lot of heart and left it all out there on the floor. They made GLS proud.
Special thanks...
-To the 28 corporate sponsors and Thrivent Financial for their financial support.
-Cousins Subs, Brad & Rachel Tillman, Lance & Heidi Miller, and Vicki Busalacchi for generous donations to the Concession Area.
-All of the Grace families who donated beverages, desserts and Jell-O.
-Mrs. Young and the Grace Pep Band
-Brian Arndt for set-up assistance and keeping our facility looking especially clean all weekend long!
-WendySue and Miranda Fluegge and students Mya Goodwin and Leah Culli for a beautiful National Anthem.
-Student Council for leading the Spirit Week Activities, Miss Benter & 8th grade for running the half time activities.
-The Jr. Cheerleaders and Mrs. Lessila, and the Jr. Raiders and their coaches.
-All of the parents and family members that signed up and worked a shift or two or three… especially those who picked up an extra shift to help us in a pinch- thank you!
-Coaches Winkelmann, Neumann, Otzelberger, Seban, Stiller and Marks for leading our athletes to represent GLS in such a positive way on and off the court.
Each year I have the unique opportunity to hear from visitors to the Classic who stop by to chat, ask about our school, and to offer words of praise. Parents, coaches, referees.. they all have wonderful things to say about our athletes, the student fan section, the National Anthem performances, the Jr. cheer and Jr. Raider halftime activities, the food, the gathering place in the cafeteria, our facility, and the list goes on. The most often heard comment I hear every year, and this year is no exception, is what a fun place Grace Lutheran School is to be. This is a testament to the wonderful families at Grace Lutheran. Thank you for being wonderful hosts...
Lastly, special thanks to Mrs. Partridge, Mrs. Kren, and Mrs. Stubbs for their tireless efforts this weekend and in the weeks leading up to tournament weekend. Your hard work is so appreciated...thank you for a great weekend!
